A woman and her daughter were shot to death by the woman's husband, who later killed himself, in what South Carolina authorities called a "home-related" shooting. William Peter Busick, 55, killed his wife, Chastity Lynne Busick, 48, and his stepdaughter, Jasmine Alyse Bailey, 23, in front of a child at a Red Bank home around 12:30 pm. on January 29, according to press releases from the Lexington County Sheriff's Office and the Lexington County Coroner's Office.

Busick later committed suicide and was taken to a local hospital, where he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, authorities added. A minor was at home at the time of the incident, but was "uninjured," authorities said in the statement.

The relationship between the victims and the child was not specified. The incident is still being investigated and there is no ongoing threat to the public, according to the sheriff's office. “This family has a difficult road ahead of them,” Sheriff Jay Koon said in the statement. "We are still talking to family and neighbors in an effort to ather all the information.
